About

I am a PhD candidate at the University of Hong Kong studying news and media literacy. My goal is to contribute to a body of knowledge that helps people make sense of our rapidly digitizing news environment.

I believe that all media, as one of the primary sources of information about the world outside of our own experience of it, should be better understood by consumers—particularly journalism. That’s a tall order these days given the lack of media and information literacy education in school systems and the impossibly fast pace of change in today’s digital media landscape.

As I make my way through a PhD, figuring out the news, information, and media landscapes in this wild and amazing digital age, I will share in the blog section notes and thoughts on what I read and experience in hopes that it will inform how we can make others make sense of it all.
